Sunday (Sunny) Faronbi is the Principal Consultant at Rehoboth Consulting, Inc., a leadership consulting and training organization that started in February 2009. In this role, Sunny is responsible for leading the daily strategic operations.
Originally trained as an engineer and a project manager, Sunny’s interests in leadership concepts started early in his career. While working in multinational corporations in Africa in the early 1990’s, he noticed the autocratic, command and control style of leadership that was the order of the day at that time. Thinking that there had to be a better way to lead and motivate people, he started the search for enduring leadership principles. With what he learned at the time, Sunny was able to apply the basic concepts of leadership to effectively connect and lead his team when he got the opportunity in the mid-1990’s.
With the chance to travel around the world, and collaborate with people of different cultures, Sunny soon found that the same leadership issues plague everyone. Through interactions with teams while working on projects in North America, Africa, Europe and South America, he continues to learn what it takes to be an effective, remarkable and exceptional leader.
Today, Sunny is a member of the board of two non-profit organizations. He’s actively involved with Toastmasters International and is in leadership both at the club and district levels. His teaching and speaking styles have received commendations from his audiences around the world.
His current interests include providing keynote addresses and motivational speeches; teaching about life issues; and mentoring others in both leadership and public speaking skills. In addition, he’s involved in a non-profit organization that’s helping to develop the next generation of engineers and leaders in Africa, South America and other developing countries.
